The classes will begin an hour before Mass each Sunday.

In a message to Our Lady of Fatima parishioners today, Fr. Sandquist said, “Starting tomorrow, we will plan to do Catechism every Sunday with the kids. It’s mui importante.

“Those preparing for 1st Communion will be instructed by Annette Brouse. Those preparing for Confirmation will be instructed by Casey Geckle. And I will have class with the post-Confirmation students (after Confirmation until about age 18).”

Father continued, “I think this is very important because these children are the future of the Church. We must take this task seriously! I will try to lead and encourage as much as possible. I know it may be difficult, but it will certainly be worth it, I promise! …”

There will be no class for post-Confirmation students on the Sundays that Father goes to the Wichita mission. The other two classes will go on as usual–one hour before Mass.

Father also highlighted how the benefit of the new catechism schedule coordinates perfectly with the children being able to join the parish Rosary after class.

“I think Our Lady will bless our parish if we make greater efforts to all pray the Rosary together on Sundays before Mass,” Father explained.
