Our chapel history goes back to the 1970s. It was started as a Mass center for the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) under the patronage of St. John Fisher. When the SSPX announced in the fall of 2017 that it would no longer send a priest due to a drop in attendance when several families moved , our current chapel coordinator asked the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen (CMRI) if it would furnish a priest. Bishop Pivarunas readily agreed, and we have made an easy and happy transition. The theological position of the CMRI is stated here: The Theological Position of the CMRI.
In September, 2018, we were able to acquire a humble church property in Chelsea, OK, about 45 minutes northeast of our former rented location in downtown Tulsa. In Chelsea we have a lovely rural location with a chapel, hall, and large pavilion. We have grown much closer as a parish family now that we have our own place.
