Newly Ordained Fr. Zepeda to be Our Pastor

Next Sunday Fr. Carlos Zepeda will celebrate Mass for Our Lady of Fatima Chapel as its new pastor. Fr. Zepeda has made several visits to our chapel as a seminarian, and so he is well known and appreciated by us. We welcome him while at the same time being sad to see our dear Fr. Sandquist go. We are comforted knowing that Fr. Sandquist leaves us to be able to attend more fully to the formation of the seminarians in his charge. May God bless him in all his efforts to bring forth more laborers for the harvest.

Fr. Zepeda will be stationed at Mountain View, Arkansas, with Fr. Geckle, our first pastor, and will travel to Oklahoma every weekend to celebrate Mass at Edmond and Chelsea.

It is a great grace for us to have a spiritual descendant of the Cristeros to shepherd us during this time of great persecution from the government.

Mass Canceled for Dec. 13th

Due to expected dangerous driving conditions because of snow, we will not have Mass tomorrow. The weather conditions will be perfect for St. Lucy celebrations, though. Bring on the hot saffron-scented rolls and the hot spiced drinks!

Watch CMRI Ordinations

This Saturday, Rev. Carlos Zepeda, Mexico; Rev. Denis McGuire, USA; and Rev. Josef Weissensteiner, Austria, will be ordained to the priesthood at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Omaha, NE, by His Excellency, Bishop Mark Pivarunas, CMRI. Please pray for them.

The ceremony begins at 8 am, Central time, and will be live-streamed via YouTube at this link: https://youtu.be/OUBIHyC2Rsc

The newly ordained priests’ first Solemn High Masses will also be live-streamed: Fr. McGuire on Sunday at 10 am, Fr. Zepeda, Monday at 7 am, and Fr. Weissensteiner on Tuesday at 7am. Links for those live streams are not yet available.

Exciting Mass Time Options for the Next Few Months

Due to Colorado’s Fr. Leon having to go back to Argentina to resolve some visa issues, Fr. Sandquist will be covering an extra chapel, Sacred Heart in Topeka, on Sundays until ordinations on Dec. 12th. In order to facilitate this, Father will be alternating early and later Mass times between the Chelsea and Edmond chapels.

Starting this Sunday, the new temporary schedule will be in place. This Sunday, Mass will be at 7 am. Next Sunday it will be at noon. Check the bulletin if you get confused. You will find the bulletin page tab in the header of the website.
