Editor’s Note:  In his book, The School of Jesus Crucified, Father Ignatius of the Side of Jesus, Passionist, outlines 25 points as a “Practical Rule of Christian Life for Daily Observance”.

Point 21

“Conclude the day by saying your prayers with great devotion.  Fail not every evening to spend a short time in reflecting upon some point of the Passion of Christ.  Remember, at least, to thank Him most gratefully for the love which induced Him to die for your sake.  Say to Him, with lively feelings of gratitude:  My sweet Lord, I thank Thee for having suffered so much, and having died on the Cross for love of me.  Most amiable Redeemer, through the merits of Thy Passion, save my soul; together with three Our Fathers in memory of His bitter Passion, and three Hail Marys in honor of our Lady of Dolors, to place yourself under her protection.”
